This extremely stable F8 version of one of the world’s most popular cannabis strains has its roots in the Amazon region, where it was used in a spiritual context. The exact origin of the plant is a mystery. Our breeders crossed her with Mexican Haze and Silver Pearl a long time ago and inbred the resulting cross for four generations, before backcrossing her for eight generations with a pure Santa Maria mother. This allows Santa Maria’s best qualities to come to the fore in a stable form with every grow.

The plant is ideal for both outdoor and indoor use. In both cases, you can expect a flowering time of around 60 days, which is very short, especially for a sativa-dominant plant. So it’s ready in no time! Indoors, the recommended pre-growth period is only 3 to 5 days, as the plant grows in height quite quickly. This is one of the reasons why topping, both indoors and outdoors, is recommended. If you do this, she will also be able to carry her peaks better. The plant will therefore grow more in width, which means that when growing indoors, approximately 9 to 12 plants per square metre are maintained.

Harvesting is also a joy at Santa Maria: because it has so few leaves, it requires much less pruning. Expect beautifully sugared, compact buds with a great taste and a pleasant, creative high that lasts a long time. The taste is almost impossible to compare with other types of cannabis: think flowers, fruit and a ‘soft’ mouthfeel, almost caramel-like. Combined with its pleasant effects, you will want to taste it again and again.
